About Source One

Pat and Richard Bell created SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm Company in 1975. The SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm themselves were formulated by Dr. Charles Hubbell, international nutritionist. Dr. Hubbell had been in Research and Development with many European Breweries, COORS and Falstaff Brewing Corporation for well over twenty years. He also produced the Feed Analysis Chart(s) for FEEDS^tm TUFFS MAGAZINE, the trade magazine of the feed milling industry and formulated the entire feed line for Falstaff Brewing Corporation in the late 1960's through mid 1975.

Pat originally contracted with Red Rose Milling Co. for manufacture of the SOURCE ONE custom malt house premium feed. Red Rose was eventually purchased by Carnation Company with whom Pat and SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm enjoyed successful milling contracts for many years. Source One^tm now conducts business with Star Milling Company in Perris, CA. Star Milling produces both SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm and the SOURCE ONE NATURALS^tm supplements, IMMUNE ONE^tm and SENIOR MOBILITY^tm. SOURCE ONE NATURALS^tm was created in February 1997 as a division of SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm.

Larch Arabinogalactan (AG) first came into view in 1971 when Science News (trade magazine of the research industry) ran research reports for several months on exciting results obtained in studies using the extract from the Western Larch tree. Pat tried actively for years to find a source for this extract (larch arabinogalactan). In 1997 a highly respected herbal company began using the larch AG successfully as an immune stimulant and delivery adjunct. Again the results were exciting and SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm began equine studies on the use of AG as a immune modulator (stimulant), anti-inflammatory and delivery adjunct.

As with previous tests using larch arabinogalactan (AG), SOURCE ONE's studies were exciting. The larch sugars AG performed well in the field under a wide variety of circumstances and equine concerns. By January 1998 SOURCE ONE NATURALS^tm began developing a delivery system for the AG with Diamond Pacific Products and in March 1998, the pelleted IMMUNE ONE^tm and SENIOR MOBILITY^tm pelleted supplements were first manufactured and marketing began.

Studies had been overlapping with the equine and pets, especially dogs and cats. The AG is effective with gastrointestinal disorders as a method to increase beneficial intestinal flora and as a therapeutic treatment for infectious pathogens especially E-Coli, Clostridium and Yeast. The anti-inflammatory properties were embraced by the many dog owners who had pets with joint problems. The cat owners discovered AG was a method to treat infectious pathogens especially upper respiratory conditions and wounds that were slow to heal or for the many problems with loose stools and/or diarrhea. IMMUNE ONE^tm LARCH ARABINOGALACTAN POWDER for feline and canine were added to the SOURCE ONE NATURALS^tm product line.

The past five months have included partnering with pet stores and breeders on the use of IMMUNE ONE^tm AG powder for treating resistant conditions in fish, reptiles, rodents and birds. Use with poultry (laying hens for organic eggs), dairy goats and llamas have been ongoing with amazing results allowing owners to limit the use of routine antibiotics.

Richard Bell is also an owner of SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm and SOURCE ONE NATURALS^tm, and has participated in the sales and development of SOURCE ONE FEEDS^tm for many years. Richard brings over thirty years of experience in business and wholesale-retail marketing to SOURCE ONE.

Today, he still runs the business with the help of his loving wife Judy and son Matt.
